What a great couch. We just got it delivered today, and it's fantastic. The buying process was relaxed and straightforward, and we ended up adding some crazy customizations that would have been really expensive elsewhere. (9" wide armrests are great for laptops.) It took about 4 weeks to arrive.

Initially, I went to Crate & Barrel, found a sofa that was ok but was way more expensive than the equivalent at BuildaSofa. I was also quoted 8-10 weeks for delivery. I found the equivalent at BuildaSofa, along with a vast array of no-charge options that you can use to customize the sofa (cushion type, density, books of different kinds of fabric, wood base color, etc.). I highly recommend this place!

It's been a while since I've posted a review, but I just had my sofas delivered and love them. I came across Build a Sofa's website and knew what I wanted. Delivery was quick, efficient and I was even given some tips on how to maintain the couch if I spilled anything on it. "Don't rub, dab or else you'll the set the stain in the fabric." :)

I really liked the Crate and Barrel Petrie Sofa, but when I checked it out in-person, the quality seemed “poor” [edited from original word] - flat cushions, cheap frame and a totally different blue then what showed online. So I was sooooo happy to come here, where they had the same type of model - modern, clean lines, sturdy frame. Plus, I could choose exactly the blue fabric I had wanted, the firmness of the cushions, and the color of the wooden legs!

My sofa and ottoman were delivered today, and I am thrilled. Sandy helped me with my selection and it was nice to talk with her about my needs and my space, and to come up with pieces that work for me. No pressure, no pushing. Just honesty and good quality.

A friend of mine had gotten her sofa here at BuildASofa, and she recommended I take a look. I was overwhelmed. I moved from couch to couch, sitting and comparing. More choice than Room & Board, 60-70% of the cost, and just as comfortable.... I went back with my brother the next day and he helped me narrow it down and make a choice. And the sofa came today! Less than 3 weeks later.

We had a fabulous experience with Customs House [BuildASofa]! They were wonderful and we LOVE LOVE LOVE our new sofa! Ann helped us, and she was very easy going and pleasant to work with. They were able to deliver the couch when we needed it. The fabric is great- if anything spills, it rolls off like water on a ducks back. :)

Repeat customer. About 10 years ago I bought a sofa from Customs House, a big "off the floor" display model...in red...still in great shape but after moving the sofa was too large for my new home. I knew I should go back to Customs House (aka BuildaSofa). Very glad I did. I found the perfect sofa ... and fabric. All done with little stress.

If only buying EVERY home furnishing could be this fabulous!!! I had a simply wonderful experience with BuildASofa. I was able to easily test and compare a wide variety of options in the showroom where there was a great selection of designs. My sofa was delivered just 2 weeks from the day I ordered it in the showroom and when it arrived, it was even better than I imagined it would be. The quality of the workmanship shows.

This was about the best possible experience I could have expected in buying my first couch. I didn't want to go somewhere that mass produces the same couch (Ikea, Pottery Barn), so based on excellent yelp reviews, I decided to pay a visit to Build a Sofa. Memo was there to help me immediately, and I had chosen the style, fabric, cushion softness, and size within ten minutes of arriving. Three weeks later, and my couch was delivered - for free - by Memo personally. It was unwrapped and all of the packaging taken away, so I didn't have to deal with all of the garbage. And I absolutely love it. It really feels like MINE because no one else has one exactly like it. I am even more satisfied when I go on Pottery Barn's website and look at the boring couches that cost 3 times the price I paid.

Very casual and helpful customer service. I sat for an hour sifting through fabric swatches. Ann made great suggestions, even as I changed my mind several times. There are various customizations without extra charge (# of cushions, firmness, fabric, wood finish, pillows). 3 weeks to deliver - quick 1 hour window - and we have beautiful couches exactly as I wanted them. Very responsive by phone and by email! And parking available!

I shopped all around for sofas when I moved into town. Because I had left my old ikea "couch" for dead, I thus had nowhere to sit in my living room. So, time was of the essence. But I also really needed to graduate from Ikea-type places. This place turned out to be perfect for me. First off, they were able to make a custom couch (I "needed" it to be red) in under a month! After shopping around considerably, I couldn't find a timing deal like this. But the BEST part of the whole thing was THEY GAVE ME A LOANER COUCH IN THE MEANTIME. Given that I had nothing in my living room AND a friend coming to visit in like a week, this was exactly what I needed. The price on the whole deal was very reasonable too. And now I'm staring at my cool red couch, loving it.

I Had a GREAT experience with them and I LOVE my new sofa! I worked with Ann and she was a great help to me because she let me hang out there and ask her a ton of questions. She then gave me swatches, drawings and measurements for the various designs I had asked about. I got EXACTLY what I wanted and could no t be happier with the quality. Since I have bought a lot of furniture in my life, I can honestly say that this was one of the most EXCELLENT experiences I have ever had buying furniture on every level: great price, great customer service, awesome delivery guys!

We love our Sofa from Customs House. It's v comfy and feels great to have just want we wanted. My wife wanted the depth of the sofa to be increased by 6" and they did it with no fuss and little extra on the base price. We also got the exact fabric we wanted and the sofa bed aspect of our sofa is extremely comfortable. Having compared to other stores the price seems as good if not cheaper PLUS their delivery time is not much different to many 'off the shelf' stores. Very happy with the product, service and the price!

Wish there were more than 5 stars!!!!! INCREDIBLE!!! I am sitting on our fabulous new PERFECT sofa. It was TRULY the best furniture-buying experience I HAVE EVER HAD. Brad was amazingly helpful in helping us design the sofa to fit our unusual space needs AND not only did he keep his word (the CUSTOM sofa was done in LESS THAN 3 WEEKS and looks gorgeous). Brad also had it delivered and hoisted up the side of the building up 3 levels onto a balcony and he videotaped it!
